Survey shows growing litter problem

Of the 29 towns surveyed in the Irish Business Against Litter (IBAL) all-Ireland anti-litter league, 16 are regarded as heavily, or very heavily, littered.

The top three towns, Carlow, Enniskillen and Fermoy, have been given litter-free status, whereas the four towns at the bottom of the league, Drogheda, Longford, Sligo and the Coombe/Liberties area of Dublin, are considered heavily littered.
