Hearings due on major construction projects
Objections have been made to the 16km-long, €170 million Fermoy to Mitchelstown bypass proposed to be built between Moorepark, near Fermoy, and Kilbehenny.
Last September Cork County Council issued 83 Compulsory Purchase Orders for approximately 500 acres it needs to build the dual carriageway.
The hearing will examine objections and submissions by landowners.
Meanwhile, two days have been set aside at the Silversprings Moran Hotel to examine a €200 million proposal by O’Flynn Construction to build hundreds of homes at Dunkettle.
The original application was for 629 homes, a retail unit, garden centre, equestrian centre, crèche and other facilities.
Objections were led by Glounthaune Community Council and Cork County Council granted permission for just 527 homes, with a number of conditions.
