Motorists angry over 60kmh speed limit

ON the country’s busiest road, drivers yesterday were obliged to slow down even further.

Motorists angry over 60kmh speed limit

Since roadworks began on a stretch of the Naas carriageway motorists have fumed at being forced to keep to a 40mph legal limit. Yesterday morning they stared at the new 60 km/h signs - equivalent to 37mph - on the N7 south of Newland’s Cross.

“Any speed limit that was there yesterday is being converted directly to the metric - for the moment,” said Dublin South Co Council spokesman Eamon Cunningham. “Next week we will look at the Naas road where the interchange is being built.”
