ICTU critical of Tánaiste’s insurance decision

THE refusal by Tánaiste and Health Minister Mary Harney to introduce risk equalisation payments is wrong, the Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU) has insisted.

ICTU general secretary David Begg has asked what BUPA said that caused Ms Harney to change course.

“The public need to know because the public, once again, may well be footing the bill in terms of higher premiums,” he said.
