A MAJOR repair project is underway in the Jack Lynch Tunnel in Cork which will disrupt traffic for almost a month.

The repairs to the southbound bore used by traffic from Dublin and Waterford will take at least three weeks, engineers said.

The damaged lane will be closed and a contra-flow traffic system put in place through the northbound bore for the duration of the works.
