Aural exams hard at both levels
Shane Meade, a student at Carrigaline Community School in Co Cork said the higher level paper was not too bad, but he found the aural exam hard.
“The exams are going grand so far and I’m looking forward to finishing on Monday with woodwork,” he said.
Maebh Barry was pleased to finish the higher level paper well within the time, even though she said French is not one of her favourite subjects.
“Things have been going okay but I’m glad to be finished after the science exam on Thursday, because most people have to wait much later to finish,” she said.
Darragh Grant and Stephen Casey, ordinary level French students in Carrigaline, had mixed reaction to yesterday morning’s paper.
Stephen said he had difficulty with the sound on the tape in the aural exam at the beginning of the morning.
“I couldn’t really hear the tape because of the echo, the whole thing was a bit hard,” he said.
But the difficult exam did not stop him looking forward to his holidays in France in a few weeks.
He said English and CSPE had been the easiest exams so far but the second maths paper on Monday was also quite tough.
Darragh has been having a good second week of exams, because he said he did well in the French exam and Monday’s geography paper was one of the ones he has done best on.
He will be hoping the good run continues until he finishes the Junior Cert with woodwork next Monday morning.
