Call for calm in Tramore

RESIDENTS in a seaside town want tougher laws and penalty points threats to deal with the noise and disturbance caused by boy racers.

An influx of up to 500 youths in souped-up, noisy cars hit Tramore, County Waterford, this weekend. No arrests were made but a number of drivers were fined.

Councillor Betty Twomey said: “If someone is fined for this sort of disturbance, they should get penalty points and their insurance company should be informed.”
