LIAM LAWLOR is set to find out later this week if he will face the prospect of a criminal prosecution for perjury over his recent evidence to the Planning Tribunal.

The three-person tribunal is due to rule on Friday on whether the former Fianna Fáil TD will have claims that he lied on oath to the inquiry referred to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Evidence from British solicitor Tony Seddon who is listed to appear as a witness when the tribunal resumes after the summer recess on Wednesday may prove crucial in the tribunal's decision on whether to refer the matter to the DPP.
