‘Life seems to be getting cheaper and cheaper’

THERE have been at least 11 fatal gangland shootings so far this year — three more than the whole of last year.

Eight of the fatal shootings have occurred in Dublin, while two have taken place in Limerick. A ninth murder took place in Co Offaly, involving a Dublin drug dealer.

Gardaí are increasingly concerned at the spiralling death toll, which could, if the rate continues, hit 20 by the end of the year.
