THE family of sectarian murder victim Seamus Ludlow last night expressed anger that a long-awaited probe by TDs failed to end the “cover-up” surrounding the killing.

The Oireachtas Justice Committee stopped short of calling for a public inquiry into the 1976 shooting and recommended a commission of investigation instead.

Members of Mr Ludlow’s family dismissed the move as “hypocritical” in light of the Dáil’s demand for a full public inquiry into the murder of Belfast solicitor Pat Finucane.
