No hot air in promise of more heat at less cost

AN invention that will cut your heating bills in half while keeping the household warm looks set to become an international success story.

No hot air in promise of more heat at less cost

The Cremin Tank, invented by Kerry plumber Tim Cremin, is turning the heat up in houses worldwide.

The invention can double the amount of hot water in a house, while cutting heating bills by 50%.

Mr Cremin came up with the concept after 20 years of working as a plumber and heating contractor in Headford, Co Kerry.

He saw that heating systems were not operating efficiently and decided, with his wife Mae, to fix the problem.

“This is something that I noticed from my work over the years and it’s a solution to an age-old problem,” Mr Cremin said.

If the system was introduced in every Irish home it could reduce fuel bills by 350 million annually, he said.

The environment would also benefit because carbon dioxide emissions would be reduced by 3.3 million tonnes a year.

The Cremin Tank takes all the oxygen from water travelling to radiators. The air-free radiators heat up at an equal temperature and become hotter all over. And because there is no air going into the radiators there is no need to bleed them, so they are also likely to last longer.

The tank also produces twice the amount of domestic hot water.

With a Cremin Tank installed, householders can fill a large bath from a standard 30 gallon cylinder.

It’s also possible to take up to five showers in one hour from the same size cylinder.

“We’ve spent the last two years working on this project. And the Cremin Tank will now be produced by the thousand,” Mr Cremin said.

The tank, retails at €490 and can be ordered from www.oxyvent.com.
