RESIDENTS welcomed an An Bórd Pleanála decision yesterday to refuse planning permission for a controversial €200 million housing development around a historic Cork home.

The Glounthane Community Association also extended an invitation to O’Flynn Construction to engage in “meaningful consultation” when the firm draws up new plans for Dunkathel House on the outskirts of the city.

“We are not anti-development. We would be delighted to meet in any pre-planning process,” association secretary Louise Oppermann said.
