125 new jobs boost for Wexford
Enterprise Minister Micheál Martin announced that US-based Waters Corporation is investing €11.5 million and almost doubling the workforce at its Wexford town facility.
The company, which currently employ 150 people in Wexford is the world’s largest supplier of high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analytical instruments, which scientists use to analyse chemicals and other materials.
The expansion will create 125 high quality jobs over five years in areas such as supply chain management, quality assurance, technical support and manufacturing.
Mr Martin said the expansion is an important part of Waters’s plans for future growth and will significantly enhance the Wexford facility’s role in the corporation’s future.
“It will have an important impact on the local and national economy through the new employment and through Waters’s intention to increase its supply chain from Irish vendors and indigenous companies,” he said.
“The Wexford management team and workforce are to be congratulated in winning this investment.”
Waters Corporation global operations and support vice-president David Terricciano said the Wexford facility was chosen for the investment due to its success to date, its ability to implement new developments and the continuous ability to recruit highly skilled people.
