Ford Focus review (01/08/2012)

I don’t often change the rules here at ‘Examiner motoring.’ It’s normally several weeks between a car being tested and then reported in the paper, but in exceptional circumstances a car will jump the queue because it is newsworthy or mind-blowing.

So it is this week with the new Ford Focus one-litre EcoBoost, a car/engine combination that is one of the biggest technological breakthroughs in mainstream automotive production in a long time.

It is in the best traditions of such innovations, something that will be copied and replicated — at least, others will attempt to copy and replicate it — by opposition manufacturers green-eyed with envy at Ford’s ingenuity.
