The number of patients waiting for a potentially life-saving colonoscopy has jumped by more than 1,000 in a year.

Detectives are at Limerick's Mid-Western Regional hospital to interview Owen Tracey, the man found stabbed after a fatal shooting near the city on Wednesday night.
