A bomb attack on a house in east Belfast – blamed locally on the Ulster Volunteer Force – was condemned tonight by Northern Ireland Secretary Paul Murphy.

Trouble broke out in east Belfast during the night when a crowd of around 30 people stormed into a street off the Newtownards Road and attacked a house.
