Richard Whittler’s Captain Rio made a stunning comeback at the Curragh this afternoon when running away with the Listed Waterford Testimonial Stakes to complete a first-ever treble for jockey Fran Berry.

Keith Dalgleish, who rode Yavana’s Pace into third place in the Grade One Canadian International at Woodbine, Toronto, last night jetted back to his native Scotland and took the riding honours with a 19-1 treble at Hamilton today.

Aidan O'Brien landed the Juddmonte Beresford Stakes for the sixth year on the trot at the Curragh on Castle Gandolfo.
