ALMOST 90 Irish jobs have been lost as another major architecture firm has fallen foul of the collapse of the construction industry.

A new register for architects was launched today in a bid to regulate the sector by ensuring that only architects whose qualifications meet set standards are listed.

THE Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland announced that Seán O’Laoire, founding director of Murray O’Laoire Architects, has become president of the Institute for the period 2008-2009.
