A landslide has crushed about 30 homes at the foot of a north Yemeni mountain, killing at least 20 villagers, Interior Ministry and medical officials said today.

A mountain landslide swept away at least 30 houses in a tiny Yemeni village, killing at least eight people, the Interior Ministry said.

Yemeni security forces uncovered evidence that attacks were planned against foreign targets when they arrested five people suspected of links to the al-Qaida terror network, an official said today.

Yemen has warned Western ambassadors of new information indicating potential terror attacks targeting foreign interests in the country.
