The Irish soldier who was accidentally shot dead in East Timor last week will be buried in Co Galway with full military honours today.

Preparations are being made to bring the body of the Irish soldier killed in East Timor back to his native Galway.

An Irish soldier who died after an apparent accidental shooting in East Timor has been named as 21-year-old Private Peadar Flaherty.
