There were eight races at yesterday’s well-attended Dawstown point-to-point fixture, run under the auspices of the Muskerry Foxhounds, at Birch Hill outside Grenagh and Cloneen Choice showed abundant reserves of stamina to record his third success of the season in the winners of two.

The Dr Joe O’Keeffe-owned/trained Hard Station lit up yesterday’s Killeady Harriers point-to-point meeting at Ballyarthur by making all the running with John Barry in the winners of one.

The annual Kildorrery point-to-point meeting, run under the auspices of the Duhallow Foxhounds, took place at Rockmills Stud yesterday and the Jimmy Mangan-trained Coole Cody vindicated the promise of his excellent fourth-placed debut effort at Dawstown last season by taking the five-year-old geldings’ maiden.

All roads led to Conna yesterday for the annual Tallow point-to-point meeting and Mulcahys Hill lit up the meeting by posting a scintillating frontrunning performance for the in-form Martin Hassett stable to claim victory in the four-year-old maiden.
