Coole Cody comfortably off the mark

The annual Kildorrery point-to-point meeting, run under the auspices of the Duhallow Foxhounds, took place at Rockmills Stud yesterday and the Jimmy Mangan-trained Coole Cody vindicated the promise of his excellent fourth-placed debut effort at Dawstown last season by taking the five-year-old geldings’ maiden.

Coole Cody comfortably off the mark

The Dubai Destination-sired Coole Cody (2/1), who finished fifth on his return to action at Templenacarriga last month, took the six runners along until Greyed A went for home after the fifth last of the 14 obstacles.

Coole Cody however made his way back to the front on the approach to the second last and he then forged clear with Declan Queally to dispose of the only other finisher Greyed A by a distance in the colours of long-standing points supporter Bernie Fenton.
