Laois will field an unchanged team in Sunday afternoon's Leinster SFC quarter-final against Dublin at Croke Park (throw-in 4pm).

LAOIS won but they did so with a performance which in manager Justin McNulty’s own words, would see Dublin “obliterate” them if repeated against Pat Gilroy’s men in the quarter-final.

Midfielder Padraig Clancy has failed to recover in time for Laois' Leinster SFC opener against Longford in Portlaoise on Sunday (throw-in 2pm).

LAOIS rediscovered their early season form — when they won three Division Two games on the trot — as a sparkling second-half at Markievicz Park revived promotion hopes and left the hosts on the brink of relegation.

KILDARE have shown their ability to snatch a result at the death on a couple of occasions this year, most recently when full-back Mick Foley grabbed an equalising goal in Ballybofey last week.

LAOIS suffered the first defeat of their league campaign but, as defeats go, it was a good one and they can learn from it.

RYAN McMENAMIN and Davy Harte have both been omitted from the Tyrone team for Saturday’s Ulster SFC semi-final against Down due to hamstring and calf injuries respectively.

EVEN though he expressed disappointment his team hadn’t won, Seán Dempsey’s jovial disposition betrayed a sense of relief at still being involved in the Leinster championship.

FOR long periods Meath looked like they would secure a place in the last four of the Leinster senior football championship quite comfortably, but as manager Eamonn O’Brien admitted afterwards, his side was relieved to have a second chance.

Laois showed tremendous character to score three points in the final four minutes of extra time in their Leinster SFC quarter-final with Meath at Croke Park.

THEY may have been impossible to separate last Sunday, but Cork and Kerry have enjoyed very different fortunes this week with Jack O’Connor forced to delay naming his starting 15 until hours before Sunday’s game.

Laois senior football manager Liam Kearns has received mixed news ahead of the O'Moore county's NFL clash with All-Ireland champions Kerry in Portlaoise on Saturday.

Tom Kelly will play his first competitive game for Laois in three months when the O'Moore men take on Wexford in Sunday's Leinster SFC semi-final at Croke Park (throw-in 2.10pm).
