THE ACT of remembering September 11, 2001 is fraught with difficulty, both for survivors whose trauma lingers to this day and for the fortunate majority who will never know the stench of death which overcame that sunny morning in Lower Manhattan.

Plans to entomb the unidentified remains of victims of the 9/11 attacks at the heart of the World Trade Center memorial have been ditched, it was reported today.

A DESIGN consisting of two reflecting pools and a large grove of trees has been chosen for the World Trade Centre memorial after an eight-month competition that drew more than 5,000 entries from around the world.
