BRAIN scans of a young man whose death led to allegations of professional misconduct against one of his doctors did not indicate a medical emergency, anexpert witness told a Medical Council hearing.

“I KNEW there was something wrong. Nobody listened to me. I was the over-anxious mother fussing about her child. Now I have no child. It’s just not good enough.”

A SENIOR doctor at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda has been accused of professional misconduct over his alleged failure to properly diagnose the results of an MRI scan on a man who died a short time later.

The Irish Medical Council's Fitness to Practice Committee is investigating an allegation of professional misconduct against a consultant radiologist at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, Co Louth.
