The Irish Medical Council's Fitness to Practice Committee is investigating an allegation of professional misconduct against a consultant radiologist at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, Co Louth.

The allegations against Dr John Hanson from Malahide in Dublin arise out of the death of 23-year-old business graduate Mark Haran from Julianstown in Meath following his second admission to the hospital in April 2008.
