IRELAND’S men were held to a 2-2 draw by Finland in their opening Premier Division Group A match at the European Team Squash Championships in Amsterdam yesterday.

Madelaine Perry put in another superb performance but could not stop Ireland losing out to fourth seeds Egypt in their quarter final tie at the Women’s World Squash Team Championships in Amsterdam.

Ireland’s men beat Spain 3-1 in their final play-off tie at the European Team Squash Championships in Rennes to finish 5th overall.

Madelaine Perry beat world number three Vanessa Atkinson 9-2; 8-10; 9-6; 9-7 but could not keep Ireland from 1-2 defeat as the women’s squad took on the Netherlands in their second round group tie at the European Team Squash Championships in Rennes yesterday.
