Squash defeat

Madelaine Perry beat world number three Vanessa Atkinson 9-2; 8-10; 9-6; 9-7 but could not keep Ireland from 1-2 defeat as the women’s squad took on the Netherlands in their second round group tie at the European Team Squash Championships in Rennes yesterday.

Ireland’s men, who lost out 0-4 in their opening round tie against silver medalists France suffered another 0-4 whitewash to Wales yesterday.
