A HARD-FOUGHT third division AIB league fixture at Musgrave Park ended in victory for the home side yesterday.

The oldest club in Ireland, Dublin University have just cause to re-start the celebrations of their 150th year in rugby, after they relegated Sunday’s Well 34-3, and in doing so reached top spot in Division Two on the final afternoon of the season.

With just one of fixtures left in Division Two, the heat is certainly on at both ends of the table following wins for leading sides Old Belvedere and Dublin University, but a slip up from former table toppers UL Bohemian as they lost 9-6 at Young Munster.

Young Munster leapfrogged Old Belvedere into pole position in AIB League Division Two this evening as their 23-22 victory over bottom-placed Sundays Well handed them their fourth win in five games.
