RECENTLY while talking to a friend outside a shopping centre in Cork I heard an extremely high-pitched noise being emitted in pulses.

I LEARN from Gwynne Dyer (‘Iran hardly deserves to be a strike target,’ Irish Examiner, January 21) that the US intends to invade that country because it has plans for developing nuclear weapons.

IN the article ‘Bad stars fuel teenage drink abuse’ (Irish Examiner, October 15) Larry Ryan of Behaviour and Attitudes, the market research company, is quoted as saying, “kids regard alcohol as being massively central to popular culture”.

THE article headlined ‘No Iraq chemical weapons stockpile, finds report’ by Ken Guggenheim (Irish Examiner, October 7) referred to a “war that has cost more than 1,000 American lives”.

PADDY O’REILLY states (Irish Examiner letters, January 15) that “our greatest enemy at present is the left-wing secular media.
