Granston heads a field of 24 in the William Hill Spring Mile, the consolation race for horses that missed the cut for Saturday’s William Hill Lincoln Heritage Handicap at Redcar.

A 123-strong entry has been received for the first major race of the 2006 Flat season, the £100,000 (€146,000) William Hill Lincoln, to be run this year at Redcar on March 25.

Trew Class survived a hair-raising moment heading out on to the track at Sandown this afternoon to take the spoils in the most valuable race of the day.
