JAKE WHITE has vowed to stand firm against his critics after South Africa’s most powerful rugby province called for his resignation as Springbok coach.

STORMERS coach Gert Smal and former Eastern Province coach Allister Coetzee have been named as assistants to new Springbok coach Jake White.

Jake White took over as Springbok coach yesterday with the task of restoring the fortunes of one of the great rugby nations.

Former South Africa captain Andre Vos has left South Africa in search of a new home in England after retiring from international rugby last week.

South Africa have appointed Rudolf Straeuli as their new coach.
