Smal and Coetze assistants to new Springbok coach

STORMERS coach Gert Smal and former Eastern Province coach Allister Coetzee have been named as assistants to new Springbok coach Jake White.

Coetzee was assistant Springbok coach under Harry Viljoen in 2001 and also coached the South African U-23 team.

Smal was an assistant to former Springbok coaches Carel du Plessis (1997) and Rudolf Straeuli (2003).

The former Springbok flanker will continue in his capacity as Stormers coach during the 2004 Super 12 campaign.
