MOST car insurance premiums will increase next year, many by up to 10%.

Over 89% of Irish motor insurance companies said that they expect their company to increase premiums in 2011, according to a new survey.

More than 85% of Irish motor insurance companies said that they expect their company to increase premiums in 2010.

Nearly 90% of Irish motor insurance companies said that they expect to increase premiums in 2009.

More than 80% of Irish motor insurance companies said that their company decreased premiums in 2007, the majority by up to 10%, according to a survey for the Deloitte Motor Insurance Seminar.
