A voluntary housing group will ask Clare County Council to take on 21 of its properties amid warnings that the imposition of the property tax will lead to “a domino effect” as other organisations will be forced to follow suit.

CALLS were made last night for no further money to be spent on Traveller accommodation in Co Clare until new legislation is introduced.

TEN Traveller homes that were part of Clare County Council’s €20 million spend over 10 years on Traveller accommodation have been destroyed by arson and vandalism, it has emerged.
