St Brendan’s College 1-18 Abbey CBS 1-6: As championship openers go, this was a relative stroll in the park for St Brendan’s College.

SPSL, Rathmore 2-6 Abbey CBS, Tipperary 0-8: They did it the hard way. Scoil Phobail Sliabh Luachra Rathmore were six points to one behind after 20 minutes and they also kicked 15 wides over the hour.

For 52 minutes or so of Saturday’s Drummond Cup decider, this was a near-perfect performance from St Mary’s CBS.
