The debt-ridden Cork building contracting firm of O’Brien and O’Flynn Ltd is to be wound up by order of the High Court.

A petition to wind up the Cork building contracting firm O’Brien and O’Flynn Ltd, which owes Nama €71m, has been adjourned for a fortnight after a judge heard that "not all of the facts" had been presented to the High Court.

Provisional liquidators have been appointed by the High Court to a Cork-based building firm that owes Nama more than €71m.

A RECORD number of planning applications have been received in the last week by Cork County Council, signalling a boom start to 2006.
