Top performances at the London Olympics, a Rolex FEI Show Jumping World Cup win, and Ireland reclaiming first place in world studbook eventing rankings, were reflected at the presentation of the Horse Sport Ireland 2012 Breeders’ Awards.

THE Netherlands won the Meydan FEI Nations Cup at the Fáilte Ireland Dublin Horse Show yesterday followed by Ireland in joint second place with the United States of America.

IT is a measure of the respect and affection with which show jumper Marie Burke is held that, following her surprise axing by manager Robert Splaine from the European Championships team in Mannheim last month, she was the subject of much condolence.

THE prestigious breeders’ championship at the Fáilte Ireland Dublin Horse Show was won by a nine-year-old bay mare owned by Margaret Jeffares, Ballykelly House, Drinagh, Co Wexford.
