5,000 breeders’ championship first prize

THE prestigious breeders’ championship at the Fáilte Ireland Dublin Horse Show was won by a nine-year-old bay mare owned by Margaret Jeffares, Ballykelly House, Drinagh, Co Wexford.

Noel O’Shea, Killofin, Labasheeda, Co Clare, bred the mare which is by Farney Clover (ISH) out of Debbie’s Slipper (ISH). Her foal is by Master Imp (TB).

This year marked the 22nd anniversary of the breeders’ championship, designed to encourage more breeders to show their mares and foals.
