McLaren will appeal against the points penalty handed down in the wake of the qualifying storm which erupted during the Hungarian Grand Prix.

McLaren boss Ron Dennis has again strenuously defended his team in the wake of the latest damning accusations in the ’spying’ war.

The war of words between McLaren and Ferrari has intensified, with Ron Dennis accusing the Italian team of winning this year’s Australian Grand Prix with an illegal car.

McLaren are confident they will again avoid punishment following FIA president Max Mosley’s decision to revert the spying case involving Ferrari to the Court of Appeal.
