Rugby legend Donncha O’Callaghan is lending his support to a charity cycle designed to raise funds for a voluntary service providing cancer patients with free transport to Cork hospitals.

They aim to become the first Irish father and son to climb Africa’s highest mountain together and in the process raise funds for a charity which transports cancer sufferers from West Cork to Cork University Hospital for treatment.

Not even a year has passed since it first went on the road, but a special transport service for cancer patients in West Cork has already logged 250 round trips with 160 passengers driven by some 120 volunteer drivers.
