Cordis Corporation, a Johnson & Johnson company, is to establish a state-of-the-art development and manufacturing facility, for Cashel, Co Tipperary, it was announced today.

THE proposed €18 billion takeover of Guidant by Johnson & Johnson is not expected to impact on the creation of more than 1,300 new jobs planned independently by the companies in Cork and Clonmel.

Tánaiste Mary Harney today officially opened the new manufacturing facility of ALZA Ireland Ltd at Cashel, Co Tipperary.
