Biotechnology company Novavax said Indonesia has given the world’s first emergency use authorisation for its Covid-19 vaccine.

Professor Paul Heath said that separating the doses between the jab for more than three weeks – the interval studied in the trial – would “probably” still be effective

An experimental Covid-19 vaccine appears to offer strong protection in late-stage UK and South Africa studies, said manufacturer Novavax. The UK has secured access to 60 million doses of the vaccine, called NVX-CoV2373.
