Madonna has defended the revealing dress she wore to the Met Gala in New York, saying it was a “political statement as well as a fashion statement”.

Every year the famed New York City museum hosts a themed Met Gala, which ushers in a respective new art and costume exhibit and welcomes dozens of celebrities to celebrate it.
