I tried my best last year. I really did. To watch Love Island, that is. Four episodes in, I felt entirely revulsed by what I saw as its vapidity and celebration of ignorance, and gave up.

My first ever experience of meditation was in the prayer room in my secondary school; a class of 20 girls lying down on the floor, listening to our religion teacher read out a guided meditation. (Most of us using it as an opportunity to take a sneaky nap, let’s be real.)

Monday marks the last day of Eating Disorder Awareness Week which ran from February 26 to March 4. It aims to raise understanding and awareness around the complexities of disordered eating, which is a spectrum that goes beyond what we traditionally recognise as eating disorders, such as anorexia and binge/purge bulimia nervosa.
