It is reported that gardaí have received a number of calls from the public in response to an appeal for information about a baby found on a Dublin roadside.

Gardaí say they are concerned for the welfare of a woman, who gave birth to a baby which was found abandoned in south Co Dublin this afternoon.

A baby has been found abandoned in Rathcoole, south county Dublin.
