Hosts of I'm Grand Mam, Kevin Twomey and PJ Kirby, hooked Roy Keane up to a lie detector in iconic Sky Ireland advert.

Roy Keane, Kevin Twomey and PJ Kirby have come together for the Cork collaboration we didn’t know we needed.

The I'm Grand Mam hosts and former football star appeared in a new Sky Ireland advert which has racked up more than 440k views, 25k likes, and almost 10k shares since it was posted on Wednesday evening.

The advert sees Twomey and Kirby hook Keane up to a lie detector and question him about his streaming habits.

“He does have a bit of a reputation as being a bit cranky,” Twomey says before Keane enters the room.

Popping his head around the door, Keane asks: “Is this where we’re doing the interview?”

Warning the two podcasters to keep the interview professional, Keane begins answering their questions.

When asked why he needs fast broadband, he quipped: “I can be quite impatient. I need things to be sped up. A bit like this chat.”

When asked if he thinks he’s the most famous person from Cork city, Keane responded ‘no’ but the lie detector proved otherwise.

“Cillian Murphy is going to have a lot to say about this,” Kirby said, with Keane listing out some other notable Corkonians, including Denis Irwin, Sonia O’Sullivan, Graham Norton, and Jimmy Barry Murphy.

For his final question, Keane was asked to choose between taking Twomey’s mother out for dinner, or taking Twomey shopping.

“Last question. In 2005, you did a competition with the Irish Guide Dogs and the winner was to be invited to a private dinner with yourself. My mam spent €100 on raffle tickets and I didn't get a birthday present that year as a result. Would you rather take my mam out for a private dinner or take me shopping for a birthday present?,” Twomey asked.

Keane said he would bring his mother for dinner in Kinsale.

The iconic collab between the three has received a huge reaction online, but will they organise a second sit-down?

When asked if he would come on the I’m Grand Mam podcast as a guest, Keane responded: “Probably not,” which the lie detector showed to be the truth.
