My Saturday with Gráinne Mullins: ‘Fresh air and the sea breeze helps me reset'

Gráinne Mullins set up Grá Chocolates from her parent's backyard during Covid.

08:00 I’d love to say I have a sleep in at the weekend but unfortunately, my body clock often has me up a lot earlier than I’d like, usually about 8am.

08:20: Breakfast is the first order of the day. I love to get down to the kitchen and make a tasty breakfast for myself and my fiancé Mikey. I’ll often pop on a podcast to listen to while cooking. My favourites at the moment are The David McWilliams Podcast and The Food Chain. I usually have a ginger shot in the morning for that extra zing. It’s a nice indulgence to spend time over breakfast on a Saturday. Midweek, I don’t have breakfast as I’m normally too busy in the warehouse packing up boxes of chocolates or taste testing new recipes. It’s lovely to spend time in my own kitchen making something that’s delicious but will also keep me going. One of my favourite things to make is shakshuka. If I’m not cooking, I love to get pastries in Magpie in Galway or Bread 41 in Dublin.
