Podcaster and author Georgie Crawford has charted her journey with surrogacy via social media

Health coach and wellness influencer Georgie Crawford has announced the birth of her newborn daughter with a poignant message on Instagram earlier today.

Best known for her podcast The Good Glow, Georgie and her husband Jamie Crawford have openly talked about their journey through surrogacy. 

The former radio host was just a couple of days shy of the end of her maternity leave with daughter Pia in 2017 when she first discovered the lump in her breast. She was diagnosed with breast cancer and decided to freeze her eggs before starting treatment.

Just before lunchtime today, the 38-year-old shared a couple of sweet photos of her family meeting their newest addition in Georgia.

“Just before lunchtime on Monday. Tahlie Crawford made her entrance into the world,” Georgie wrote. “Her name meaning ‘leaping water’ representing the many trips to many countries she made as a tiny embryo.”

Grateful 

Georgie also paid tribute to the surrogate mother who is from Georgia. “To hold our surrogate mother’s hand with Tahlie between us and knowing we will forever be connected has changed me forever. She has given us the greatest gift of our lives. We are so grateful to the kindness and love we have received in Georgie and we cannot wait to come home as a family of five”.

Tahlie is their second child and is now little sister to six-year-old Pia.

“Tahlie, though teeny tiny, has already taught me a lifetime of lessons,” wrote George. “patience, trust and hope. She is finally here. Our miracle baby”.

Already well-known Irish personalities have congratulated the couple.

Absolutely amazing,” wrote Virgin Media’s Karen Koster, “what an incredible journey for you all. It’s like a movie. Enjoy your beautiful baby!!” 

While Rosanna Davidson. who had a similar surrogacy journey added her well-wishes to the couple.

“Oh Georgie. Huge congratulations to you Jamie, and your families! Sending you all lots of love xxx”
