Sheep, wellies, and topless men. It can only mean one thing — the Irish farmer calendar is here and this time, it’s a very special edition.
Now in its 14th year, the Irish farmer calendar is back by popular demand for 2024, compiling some of the best and most popular shots from the past 13 years. Creator Ciara Ryan said 2023 was to be the final year of the quirky calendar but fans wanted more.
The 2024 edition of the popular calendar features “the hunks of agriculture charm” from across the country with this year’s models hailing from Cork, Wexford, Dublin, Roscommon, Tipperary, and Kilkenny.
As is tradition, the topless farmers are pictured in their natural habitat among adorable farm animals. The 2024 edition includes everything from a sheep wearing sunglasses to adorable bunny rabbits and even a Lamborghini pulling a hay trailer.
The Irish farmer calendar has always been a head-turner and in the past, it has beaten the likes of One Direction and Justin Bieber in the calendar charts. However, it seems there is quite the appetite for Irish farmers abroad and it is not just fans at home who have been snapping up the calendar. Orders have come in from across the globe, including the US, Australia, Brazil, Japan, and South Africa.
The first order for the 2024 calendar came from New Jersey, followed by Germany and Finland.
The 2023 calendar saw the number of images almost double with 23 pictures included to make up for the impact of covid-19 on previous years but creator of the calendar series, Ciara Ryan said fans cried out for more. Despite plans to halt the calendar, she decided to compile their best bits to create a 'fan favourites' edition.
“This year the calendar is a special edition of Fan Favourites featuring images from the last 13 years shot in locations over six counties and featuring the work of four talented photographers,” she said.
“So far, this has gone down a treat with fans and we see new orders coming in every day from all over the world. It is great to see the calendar still has universal appeal in its 14th year.”
- The calendar is available now from www.farmercalendar.com for €12.99.
